There are certain homes that photograph beautifully the second you walk in.
And then there are the homes that ask you to look a little deeper first.
Searidge was the latter.
This luxury coastal home renovation in Laguna Niguel became one of the most layered before-and-after transformations our studio has completed.
Perched above the ocean with sweeping Catalina views, the house had all the things you can’t manufacture… light, scale, incredible bones, that unmistakable California feeling. But inside, it felt visually noisy and emotionally disconnected. Too many materials. Too many moments competing for attention. Nothing really breathing.
It wasn’t a bad house.
It just wasn’t telling the right story yet.
Those are always the projects I fall hardest for. The ones where the transformation isn’t about making something prettier, but about uncovering what was already there underneath all the excess.
And somehow, somewhere between the walkthroughs, finish samples, endless revisions, and a thousand tiny decisions… this project became one of the most meaningful homes our studio has ever designed.
